Main Line Welding

Our core competence: mechanised welding process in pipeline construction

Our welding technology utilises state-of-the-art, programmable orbital technology combined with the best welding power sources available. Thanks to our more than 30 years of experience in pipeline construction and the use of a wide variety of systems, we are now able to weld all common pipe dimensions from DN400 to DN1400 - and beyond - with wall thicknesses from 5 to 40 mm in a mechanised manner and at the desired production rate.

Our service offers customers a comprehensive package that fulfils all requirements and relieves them of worries. We are also available for customised special solutions and measure ourselves against the high demands of our customers.

Main Line Welding

Process Steps

The following systematic approach ensures the highest precision and quality in pipeline construction.

Tie-In Welding

manual and semi-mechanised

In addition to our mechanised processes, we continue to be a leader in the manual joint welding of pipelines and station pipes.

  • 141 WIG (Argon)
  • 111 basic electrodes (PH, H-L0 45)
  • 111 Cellulose electrodes (PG, J-LO 45)
  • 135 (MAG) (PJ) – root welding with Lincoln STT
  • 136 (FCAW) (PH) flux cored welding
  • Combination processes such as 141/136 automatic or 135 STT manual/136 automatic

We will equip your construction site with entire teams and machinery if you wish.

Lowering-In

We also offer Crews of machine Operators and foremen for lowering- In activities

  • Experienced with all typical Pipeline- machinery (Sidebooms all brands, Cable-cranes, Excavators)
  • Experience in Lowering and Tie-In activities

Blasting / Coating / Wrapping

Another of our activities is the post-weld coating of weld seams. For this, we have trained personnel (GW15) as well as suitable equipment for blasting and coating.

  • Blasting work on site up to surface cleanliness SA 2.5 or 3.
  • Wrapping of construction site seams, fittings and valves in accordance with DVGW worksheet GW15 modules A/B/C/D

Please feel free to send us your enquiry; we will prepare an individually tailored offer for you.

Welding Competence Center

R&D Center

In order not only to maintain our high technological standards, but also to continuously improve them, we have been operating a specially equipped department with its own hall for many years. Here we realistically simulate the processes on our construction sites. Pipes in all dimensions are prepared, welded and thoroughly tested under optimal conditions. This innovative facility enables us to guarantee the highest quality standards, to organise processes efficiently and to test new technologies in a practical environment. This is how we create the basis for first-class results and ensure our technological advantage.

Education & training

An important part of our work on construction sites is the trust that we have in our employees. The expertise of our welders and machine operators is particularly important to us. To ensure this, we continuously train specialists at our training centre, and we train them in the relevant process and the machines in advance of their deployment.

Expertise in welding technology

Our team consists of experienced welding engineers (IWE), technicians (IWT) and welding specialists (IWS), who work both at our location and directly on construction sites. This expertise is complemented by our specially trained automatic welding engineers (AWS technicians), who take care of the maintenance, servicing and repair of our equipment.

To ensure that they are always up to date with the latest knowledge and technology, our employees regularly attend specialist conferences, seminars and training courses – including in collaboration with the RBV, the SLV and other renowned institutions.

In addition, our specialist staff are comprehensively trained and certified in various non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, which allows us to guarantee the highest quality standards in all projects.

Qualification test of welding procedures (WPQR)

An essential part of our welding ability is the approval of projects in accordance with various regulations and customer requirements. We can draw on a broad database of welding qualifications, but we still verify and qualify our process parameters on a project-specific basis.

When qualifying welding procedures, we work together with all major testing organisations, such as TÜV SÜD, TÜV Nord, Dekra, DNV GL or other country-specific institutions.
